TIME TRANSFER


As in other standard laboratory, the time & frequency produced in the laboratory is traceable to UTC by using GPS Common View Method. A single channel GPS Time Transfer System is programmed to follow BIPM Schedule for East Asia region. The other is a multi channel type, based on modular Motorola Oncore GPS engine, developed under the collaboration with NMIA Australia. The system is controlled by a PC that has an optional direct hot-line connection with the NMIA for maintenance.

GPS Common View is one of various method used for building International Time Link and Key-Comparison coordinated by BIPM. The laboratory also propose to use GLONASS Common View System as a second system. This will make the laboratory able to evaluate and  minimize or eliminate biased systematical error that may be introduced in a time-transfer system.
